The Joey Ramone Birthday Bash Art Show is ON! With A Few Surprises!
And a special video presentation about Joey Ramone and Blackfire: It's all free!

Last night was a lot of fun! Around a dozen cartoonists and illustrators drew all over four huge pieces of paper at a party in the new “Dungeon” room in the Metropolis store basement. The opening night party starts at 5:00 later today, so stop by if you can…
Sunday afternoon we will be presenting some very special videos. Aysha Quinn and Andi Bierlein have put together a video highlighting Joey Ramone’s last recording with a band: BLACKFIRE, a Native American punk rock band. Joey championed Blackfire and The Independents after the Ramones broke up, and often hosted their performances in New York City and around the country, often performing with them live.
This new video will premiere at 3:00 pm in the basement of Metropolis (803 Broadway). Aysha Quinn, will be on hand for a Q & A afterwards. A few other surprise videos will be shown afterwards, so if you’re looking for something to do before the Birthday Bash stop by 11th Street and Broadway in the East Village.
We’ll have some news to report and a few refreshments, so stop by! More Big Fun!!!
Yeah, it's kind of a masterpiece, right?
The drawing was done by Cliff Mott and a friend of his.
Cliff's drawings were published in the Iggy magazine.
"I love his stuff!"
He was the Art Director of Cracked magazine in the late 1980s and 1990s, when they worked with John Severin and Don Martin (who left MAD magazine to work with him and Mort Todd).
He's currently working on a Monster Project for the new issue of PUNK--I am hopefully going to be able to work on that soon.
The Ramones Descending a Staircase looks great! Looks like a cool kickoff event.
