Haven't heard about him before, but I agree with everything he has to say. A lot of people are waking up to the fact that the analog world was a better business model than our new digital nightmare. Thanks for the link!

Wow, thanks for such a deep and thoughtful comment. Yeah, I am hearing more reports that the whole world is turning into a surveillance state. Which I think is helping fuel the movement to abandon digital culture and go back to analog. The 20th Century was kind of awesome, while the 21st Century has been a huge disappointment.

I agree absolutely that "punk" needs to become (or maintain) it's standing as an anti-corporate, outsider culture. We need to be that kid in "The Emperor's New Clothes" who see that Our Leader is a naked idiot.

And we need to have fun. Getting dragged down by politics? "No Fun."

I have always believed that creating weirdness (music, art, film, fashion etc.) is what "Punk" was all about, and we are at our best when we fight against conformity and "The Norm."

These things are sent to try us ... where to begin? But maybe we should only discuss these things one to one. Rest assured, Manchester, Merry England, is as much of a corporate micro-state within a corporate megalith. It's a plaything for moneyed footballers and their cronies ... the people are like mice in a maze - why, it's like some Outer Limits episode ...

Given the general ambience of suck-ness (though we all count our blessings and keep our heads down), a good article might be 'How To Be A Punk In The 21st Century' - or 'Why Be A Punk In ...' (you get the point). Those round table things are popular - let's throw this one open to debate. No one is allowed to spout nostalgia or PR fluff. Here and Now. Provocatively - Punk must be destroyed in order to save it! Punk sucks. What next?

I'm for Top Ten TV Shows Punks Watch type articles - remember Ronnie Binder, 'He Eats Chains For Breakfast!' - 'It takes a lot of sophistication - or better, none at all'. Punk is a trickster God, the Wizard Of Od who leads you astray for being such a mug as to follow him (her, she, it). But it was totally worth the trip! You're ruined forever as a result, but thankfully outside of the herd-regimentation programming that afflicts 99% 99% of the time.

But that's just so much wishful (or willful) thinking. Which is probably as unseemly a vice at present as smoking, eating sugar, paper money, tactile contact ad infinitum.

Our mission, should we choose to accept it, is break through the alienated abstract bullshit society, and party and fart around.

Here's to Punk #23 (very significant number to some!) becoming stronger as a result. Thank you for contributing to the printed word's continuation.

Can you get Chris Stein in it, He rules!

God put bathtubs in tenement kitchens so there would be a place to store beer for guests. God also created Sharpies so guests could write their names on the cans.
